Chiming in late here - I found this post through a Google search. I have that doll! In different colors, of course - my mom made her for me when I was small. Mine is missing her bonnet, shoes and pinafore, but I hope to fix her up for my little girl (not quite 2yrs) one day soon. Will share a picture of mine in her current condition on my blog in the near future.

Aawwww. Holly Hobbie. I loved her. I had some dolls of HH when I was teaching kindergarten in the 70's. I think I still have some of the coloring books that I used for inspiration for decorating ideas, too. And of course I know Toot and Puddle and love those books, too. Thanks for the memories!

Wow, I also didn't know there was a real life Holly Hobbie. I'll have to tell my mom. I LOVED HH as a child - my room was decorated that way, I had HH birthday parties and of course, a bunch of the dolls.

That is so neat! I didn't know there was a "real" Holly Hobbie. My mom and I made my 2 y.o. DD a very dear little Holly Hobbie outfit for Halloween this year. She was a real doll! She called herself Hobbie Hobbie. I had a Holly Hobbie lunch box that was the inspiration for her costume. Thanks for the great post!

This brings back fond memories :-) I loved that little girl in her patchwork pinafore (or apron, maybe...) when I was a young girl. Come to think of it she is partly to "blame" for me taking up patchwork in the first place. I also stitched several cross-stitch pictures of Holly Hobbie and her friends, hm, where could they be? I must unearth them - another topic for my blog, I think. Thank you for reminding me about my little friend!

I didn't realise she was a real person. All I knew of Holly Hobbie was a fabulous patchwork bag my aunt sent me from Texas. It had a pocket on the front with its very own little Holly Hobbie doll inside.
