Went to the Amherst Winter Farmers Market today to sell lamb -- only 2 weeks left and then a little break before the outdoor market begins again. I met a new friend named Elizabeth Cogswell. She has written and self-published a charming little book called A Lamb's Life: A Year in the Life of a Lamb on a Farm. She does beautiful watercolors and the book is full of them. Liz says her book is for children 6 and under and covers the life cycle of a lamb from birth to shearing and then to becoming a mother to a lamb herself. You can order it directly from her (although there doesn't seem to be a shopping cart on her site) or from Amazon here.
It might be nice to give to a little one for an Easter or Passover gift.

Yes, I know that my needlework and knitting will soon come to a halt with warm weather and flower & veggie gardening. For that I love winter and short days. However, I should be thankful for the variety in my life, esp. as I get older. Love all your posts and have my husband interested in your farming now!! He has cattle and horses and cannot resist checking out all aspects of the business. His is just an expensive hobby but keeps him occupied and happy!!
I want to get this wonderful book for my grandchildren. They will love reading it and the art is beautiful. Thanks for the review of it.
