Multi-Color Quarters Cap in the Snow on You Know Who

I'm still making my Quarters Caps. I'm sorry.... I can't stop. They are somewhat mindless and were a great project for holiday knitting. I've gotten so good at these I can handle a decent conversation and not stop knitting.

Here's a new one I made out of odds and ends of my Julia Yarn. I grabbed bits and pieces of greens, pinks, purples, and caramel and set about knitting the garter ridges. It was all willy-nilly with no sense of order.

I really like how it turned out. It was going to be a Christmas gift for someone else but it turned out so cute I decided to keep it for my Julia.

The color changes were made on the bottom edge that is close to the face. I wove them all in but the edge was a little wonky. To cover it up, I picked up and worked a garter ridge. Then I did a bobbled bind off to make the fun little dangly bobbles. (You can find the bobbled bind off in my new book Color by Kristin.)

Now I can imagine making this hat out of a space dyed yarn. Has anyone done that yet?

You can purchase the pattern in my on-line store. It is available as an automatic PDF download for $4.50 and is sized for babies to adults.

What a colourful and pretty hat! Love the photo from behind, where you see the construction - and the snow :-)

Love this version! I made several of these hats for Christmas presents. They are so much fun to knit....it's hard to stop! I'm knitting myself one out of a handpainted yarn right now & will take a picture when it's finished.
