Some may say I have gone nuts. That's okay. Sometimes you have to make your own fun here on the farm. I've been knitting. Now that isn't an uncommon thing here. I knit - sometimes a lot, sometimes not. But I have been knitting a lot this winter.
I've also been taking lots of photos - mostly of sheep and their lambs. You know -- you've seen many of them, haven't you?
So what do you get when you put knitting and lambs together? Some kind of crazy knitter woman with all this stuff on her brain... with too much time on her hands...... Actually no, I don't have too much time on my hands..... it was all I could do to get these done.....Idea has been brewing for a couple years.... never any time to make it happen.....
Today, I give you some of my latest combo efforts....
White Lamb in a Striped Coat in the Snow
White Lamb in a Pink Coat with a Donkey named Eeyore
Black Lamb in a Striped Coat
White Lamb in Snow with Crocheted Flower Collar
All knit in my lovely Julia Wool/Mohair/Alpaca yarn which you can find at your local yarn store.
You can purchase postcards of my latest zaniness here on my Shop Page. Go ahead, reward the fun I bring you from the farm. Buy some postcards..... Share that lamb and knitting love with a friend by sending a postcard.... You know you've been trying to convert those friends of yours - knitting, lambs in wool sweaters, what could be better?
The postcards are here but I won't be shipping them until Monday, February 22nd because it is Julia's winter school vacation and I'm entertaining her and we are visiting my sister and her family. There will be no copyright type on the front of the postcard.
And By The Way...... The pattern will be availbable very soon if you would like to knit your lamb a sweater...... I have to knit at least 148 more..... and they aren't this small anymore.....
Thank you for your support. Spread the word about Kristin's lambs in sweaters in the Julia Yarn......

These lamb coats are beyond cute! Was it difficult to get them into their sweaters?
I LOVE THEM!
Adorable!
OMIGOSH! That's the sweetest thing I've ever seen!
OH I love them. My two favourite things - knitting and sheep. I enjoy your blog so much - many thanks.
I read your blog all the time, but rarely comment, but these were just so sweet and clever and funny all at once, I had to drop in and say something. Wonderful! Just wonderful!
I can't think of a better way to start the day than looking at these pictures. I will be grinning all day long thanks to you. Mary had a little lamb, but her's wasn't as cute as yours.
FANTASTIC! INSPIRED! Plus-the photography is great.
Can't say that I have ever seen anything cuter than a little lamb wearing a sweater. Would love to see a video of you dressing them!!! :) Thanks for sharing.
So unbelievably cute! How do you make lambs cuter - you put sweaters on them! Love it. Thanks for sharing your pictures and life.
(loveX1000)
I think that I'll go out and buy a lamb just so that I can knit some sweaters for her!
Holy heck, Kristen! That has got to be the cutest thing. My sister's goats are due in April and, since they live in RI, it still might be a bit chilly for them. I may just have to knit a couple goat sweaters. I can't wait for the pattern. I'm assuming I could use it for my pugs as well, right? Oh, and maybe my new chickens will have to have one too! I'd hate to leave anyone out, ya know? Thanks for making me smile.
hi Kristin,
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Baa, baa, Kristin's sheep,
have you any wool ?
Yes, Ma'am, yes Ma'am,
Our sweater basket's full !
~ perfectly adorable, what great modeling by the sheepies & beautiful designs. I can't wait to show them to my children knitting students. My cat wants to be a sheep, so she can wear these.
Thanks for adding some silly zip to the winter days.
Shell ~
You are a hoot!
It's a loooong winter, isn't it?
Love those little faces in their
fine duds.
Oh my good god. I thought the lambs were cute when they were naked, but this is just... way too cute for words. Oh my god.
OHHHHH how cute!!
Love it ......my little dog would love to wear one of these sweaters ! Please give the pattern...Have a wonderful day knitting for the rest of your little ones.
Cory
Those are fantastic!
Thanks for the giggle. :)
These are the best photos ever! They brighten up even the dreariest winter day here in the northeast. Thanks so much for posting them!
Love the photos! Creative and imaginative!
Love your little lambs in their little sweaters! The colors are just fantastic. Thank you for sharing all this with us.
These are way cuter than the ones I've been making out of old sweatshirt sleeves!! Can't wait for the pattern--I might need to knit just a few for dress-up days!
These little lambs in sweaters are simply too cute for words! Love them!! Thanks for brightening my day.
Completely, utterly adorable!
Mark is a very patient man without a doubt. I can just hear him thinking "Please don't let anyone I know drive by the pasture as I'm putting a striped sweater on this lamb..."
We're going to drive up to see the lambs as soon as our car is fixed. Probably stop by the pasture on Saturday.
Lorelei says a big giant HELLO! to Julia!
OMG that is so cute! You are so creative!
I love it!!!!
I absolutely LOVE them!!! OMG, I so want to buy the pattern for my dogs of course. I've been waiting for that perfect/just right pattern and you've created it;-)
Totally adorable!
I want a lamb and snow now too!
I wonder though, does keeping them warm with the coat result in them generating less wool since they don't need to keep that warm?
love, love, love! SO stinking cute!
sooo adorable! Now.... can you design a chicken sweater?
Love, love, love them. So cute! Great pictures as always, what kind of camera do you use? Did Nessie do a double take when rounding up the lambs?
Yes! I want the patterns for my dog! ... 65lb, so bigger than adult sheep size!
Oh, my...this reminds me of something my then-3-year-old son said. He was learning about animals and the sounds they make, and we were talking about sheep. I took the opportunity to give him an impromptu lesson on sheep and wool, and how that's where Mommy's yarn came from. Several days later, my bemused husband reported this conversation to me from earlier that day and he and my son talked about animals.
"Daddy, sheeps say baaaa!"
"That's right!"
"And sheeps have wool. The farmer cuts the wool and makes it into yarns for Mommy to knit."
My husband, not knowing about my "lesson," was quite impressed. "And then what does Mommy do with the yarn after she knits it?"
We hadn't covered this, so my son thought hard for a few moments. "She puts it back on the sheeps 'cause they don't have any wool!"
awsome and so fun and how full of loving life is this!
"It Itches..." ;)
Love, love, and more love!
I cannot take the CUTENESS of those pictures! I ordered two sets of the postcards. One set definitely for me, and one set for a lucky birthday girl one of these days. I can't decide which one. I may have to order more...
I love these pictures and I ordered a set of postcards to share the love, but I think you would sell more if you made a mixed pack. Because I'd love to have all 4 designs, but not for $40+! (with shipping)
This has got to be your peak performance - love it. The coats are beyond adorable. I too would like to know how hard it was to get those little lambs to model for you?
This is one of the cutest animals pics. I have ever seen - "White Lamb in a Pink Coat with a Donkey named Eeyore"
If this is what crazy is like I want to join the club.
Lindy in AZ
Adorable.
This is just too, too wonderful. By the way, I have two little doggies who would love a beautiful coat of many colors. One of them, a bichon frise, resembles a lamb. Can he join the queue?
To Evelyn who commented above:
Kristin's postcards *are* available in mixed packs. Scroll further down the Shop page. At the end of the postcard section there are various 12-card assortments, one of which is a Sheep in Coats set with 3 cards each of all 4 pictures.
These are too wonderful. You are insane, but in the absolute best way!!
with much appreciation, gale
You're not really going to knit 148 more coats, are you? !!!
Please, please DO make the pattern available! No lambs this year, but plan on 8 next spring. If I start now, I might, just might be ready! Thank you for the inspiration!
Ok...that's the cutest thing I've ever seen...little lamby coats. Brilliant!
I'm in love with your lambs!
I would love to knit one of your sweaters for each of my alpacas :)
They are gorgeous! how cute, and practical too!
Love

I put a link to your blog on my facebook page because I thought that this was too cute not to share, and I got quite the reaction from people! Apparently everyone loves cute little lambs in sweaters. I know that I do. My friend and I want to take a road trip to see them in person. :)
OOMMGG!!! :D Love it!!!
I love the lambs in their hand knits! I will definitely be stopping by the shop to pick up some cards.
Wish I had a lamb to dress!
seriously.......this is the CUTEST thing ever! I was having a really bad day today, and clicked on this and it made me smile! Thank you.
So adorable! I think the first one would make a great xmas card. Thanks for sharing!
This is one of the sweetest things I have ever seen!!!
I think it's very clever when you consider these will fit a medium size dogs and stars and their dogs these days so should go over like gangbusters :)
I'm anxiously awaiting this pattern!! I think it will work wonderfully for a llama cria! :-)
These pictures just make my heart so happy! :) Lovely!

Kristin, your cards are brilliant! I am going to order some right this minute. We're just coming to the end of our vacation here in Maine. I worked while my daughter went to horse camp and wizard camp. I hope today we can do something fun together.
Good thing I don't know how to knit, otherwise I would be knitting jackets for all of our new lambs :) Absolutely adorable!!! Love the picture of the lamb with Eeyore.
Awwww!!! That is too cute! Will you be publishing these in a 'LARGE' size too, for cria?
Brillant and totally adoreable beyond words.
ooooooooooooh! i am in love, love, lovvvvvvve! what could be better than knitting AND lambs combined!! :)
christine m. east of toronto
Awwww, now that's just cute! These pictures made my day!
I know what you mean about knitting 148 more!
I'm a retired dairy goat farmer. When it was time for the kids to come in february, the ones who were a bit smaller and weaker would end up wearing baby sweaters for added warmth. I definitely did not have time to knit back then since we had 300 plus milking does with kids popping all over the place. But yes, they are the most darling looking little things with sweaters on and your wee ones look fantastic!
Enjoy them while they are this small because they grow so quickly. :)
I love, love, love those precious lamb sweaters! My fave is the pink! And the little lamb looks like such a femme fatal in it! Great idea, great design!
Too cute! I want to hug all of these lambs in their adorable sweaters!
