Much love and condolences for your loss.... Ironically, my word verification is "sunkind" which gives me many kind warm fuzzy images of Lily in a sunbeam...

So sorry, but I bet your cat had the best life there with you! I have just received my copy of Knitting the New Classics and am blown away by the fantastic range of sweaters and cardigans, both for style and difficulty levels. Also for sizes that offer more than just sm med or large. Can't wait to start on your 'Scandinavian family'. Thanks for all your great inspiration. From Jennifer, in Adelaide, South Australia.

She sang? My calico Lizzy also sang. She danced and twirled on the dining room table too. Her purr was a song with many notes. She also had sentences of meows when she wanted me to do something for her. She was beautiful and longhaired and wonderful. She died on September 11, 2001 as the twin towers were falling. I got teary for 3 years afterward when I thought of her.
My heart goes out to you and your family on your loss.

Just wanted to add my condolences over the loss of your furry friend. She was beautiful. And she sounded like one of those really special cats that come along only a few times, if at all, in our lifetime.
I'm so sorry....

When my human came home last night, she told me that Mom had died. I will miss her. She was a good mom to me, my siblings, and my step-brothers and sisters.

She taught me to be self-reliant and strong. I think of this every day when I try to claim my rightful place as alpha-cat in our household.

I was so sad when you reported the death of Cora and so happy when you reported she was still ALIVE! I know that life of a farm cat is not easy but she was a very special feline. So sorry. Thanks for letting us know. Tell Julia how sorry we all are too please.

We have a tortie, Livvy, as well. There is no other cat like her as it was with your Lily Pons. The picture of her with her kittens is lovely.

This is my first visit to your blog, and I read this sad news. I'm assuming someone may have already sent you this, but just in case:
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

May God bless you all richly and comfort you in your grief.
