JP K&S, Those Brits, and a Spring Lamb Meat-Up at Webs in Noho

I'm on the way to Boston today for a slide show tonight at 6 p.m. and two classes Saturday at JP Knit and Stitch. Check it out here as I am told there are still openings in the classes. I promise a fun day and you will leave with lots more knitting tricks.

I've been struggling to put the finishing stitches on a project I am making for Julia. She asked me a while back for a larger bag to carry her ipod in. The knitting has been done for a while.

Julia' Tech Cozy before Felting

 So has the felting....

Julia's Tech Cozy after Felting

I have purchased the button and now all I need is a little time to put on the embroidery I have in my head for this project. Maybe I will get an hour or two this weekend. I can be hopeful....

You can make your own Tech Cozies with the pattern available here on my website or here on Ravelry. Check it out. Fun projects that are quick and do not need to fit anyone. Or click the button below.

I stumbled upon this bit of yarn-bombing celebrating the upcoming Summer Olympics via the blog Shades of Shetland. How is this for crazy fun - a 50 foot long scarf decorated with little knitted figures doing Olympic sports. And the cool thing is the maker is a mystery. Do you think anyone will step forward???? More here and here. Some may think it nuts to spend all that time knitting but I think it is just plain fun and a bit thought-provoking.

I spent last Friday at The Creative Economy Summit in Greenfield. Organized by my friend Becky George and co-workers, this is the third time that this grass roots event has been held. I have been trying to get to it but this is the first time I was able to make it. The keynote was given by Peter Kageyama and I left jazzed and full of ideas. You can listen to Peter too by watching this video of his TedX talk. Check it out if you have the 17 minutes. Do you know TedX? Really good inspirational talks on all kinds of things.

We are having a "Lamb Meat-up" at Webs next Thursday evening from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. If you would like to purchase a pasture raised western Massachusetts Leyden Glen Farm Leg or half leg of Lamb for Easter or Passover, e-mail me (link on left sidebar) and you can pick it up next Thursday evening. I'll be posting a complete price list on Monday. (Sorry, not enough time to do it today!) An e-mail order will do it and I can take cash, checks or credit card. The one before Christmas was awesome. Hope to see some of you there!  And as always, you are always welcome at our Lamb Shack for the self-service. Click here for directions to the farm. Last day of the Amherst Winter Market on Saturday. Julia and The Farmer will be manning the stand.

Our local Newspaper featured THAT Yarn-Bomb "project" a few weeks back! The Synch-Swimmers are great! And for once, Someone has COOL Olympic Advertising going on!
