The Webs Tent and Fleece Sale was great fun. Started the day by guesting on the Webs Podcast with Steve Elkins live from the tent sale. Great fun chatting on the radio/podcast. Julia is fascinated by radio and she stood by intently watching me - I'm sure wanting the grab the microphone from me. That's her on the left of the photo above watching Steve interview his employees Karen and Pete who work so hard to put this big event together. This week Julia is going to tape a Bernardston Farmers Market ad at the local radio station. She's pretty good at speaking into a microphone and she loves to watch the technical editing after the taping. You can check out and listen to the Webs Podcast here.
I sold lots of our farm-raised lamb meat to many of you. How fun to meet you all. I even sold some lamb to adventuresome people who have never eaten lamb. I hope you all enjoy it. I'll definitely do this market again next year and hopefully be better prepared with cooler bags that buyers can travel with.
The fun thing about these shows is meeting customers, knitters, and other vendors. Met a whole bunch of people who watch me on their PBS stations on Knit and Crochet Now. Fun to hear that because I rarely hear from viewers. Our booth was next to "Stitched by JessaLu."
Jessalu had quite a crowd lining up to buy her colorful cotton print project bags, meticulously lined and sporting zippers and little Bee zipper pulls. It took us a while to chat but I found out what all the buzz was - all the Dr. Who and Jane Austen fans were lining up to buy bags with their favorite characters on them. It was a frenzy. (I didn't know what "Dr. Who" was until Saturday. Boy, am I out of the loop.) Jess will be in the Spunky Eclectic Booth with her bags at this weekend's Massachusetts Sheep and Wool Festival in Cummington if you missed her at the Tent Sale.

It was great to be booth neighbors! We were happy to teach you a bit about The Doctor ;) Hopefully we'll see each other before the next tent sale!
Really?? huh. -- Actually, "THE DR." is famous for his endlessly-long-knitted Scarf...
Personally, I've never been a "WHO"-fan, however, "as an excuse" to visit friends in L.A. in February, I used to go to one of "Their" Conventions for a few years.
So, Julia is into the Techie-Stuff..? GOOD! -- Give Her a decade or two and She'll probably be Producing future Shows! :-D
I'm happy to hear you had such a good time/sales. I watch the Knit and Crochet program every week and it's only quite old episodes, some even before Brett was the hostess. I thought you filmed some new episodes with the group. When will they be shown?
You've had a busy weekend. Glad the lamb sales went well - fancy never having eaten lamb! Obviously not somebody born in Wales!! I went to a Gypsy Horse Fair yesterday and finally - after waiting for months - the sun has arrived - yippee!!
Elaine - the new episodes are starting to air but each area in the country is different. Keep checking in. Usually they air on the regular PBS station first and then move to the Create part of PBS later. I know nothing about it.... Sorry.
Kristin
Thanks, Kristin!! I still watch all the old ones just because I like them so much. Today it wasn't on because a pledge program pre-empted the fiber shows, which happens quite often on PBS here (3 stations) Maybe tomorrow--as it is on 2 days each week.
Thanks again for your reply!!
I am loving my purchase of lamb meat. I made a lamb stew with a mix of yukon gold and red new potatoes, garlic, tomatoes and red wine.It was good:-) Thurs. I'm planning to try some of your recipes for kofta or lamb and lentils.I've got to buy a small freezer so I can stock up on your lamb meat. Jackie in New York
