Knit and Crochet Now Coming Soon on PBS

I must apologize for the scarcity of blog posts of late. Things have been busy here on the farm. I'm juggling so many balls - trying to keep them all in the air before they come crashing down around me. Actually, I am not even writing this from the farm. I am in....

...... Detroit taping a new season of Knit and Crochet Now at Detroit PBS. It's been a fast trip jam-packed with knitting and crochet and more - my friend and television producer Candi Jensen, Crochet Expert Robyn Chachula, Host and Crafter Extraordinare Brett Bara.

Before I arrived to tape, my fellow Knitting Expert Maggie Pace and new Crochet Expert Ellen Gormley had taped their six segments. Detroit PBS has a great crew and staff. Each time we tape, the set is recreated, re-painted, and re-decorated so it looks practically the same.

There is so much behind the scenes work and people involved. Making a t.v. show is fascinating. All day long, 23 people were working on the show. I bet you didn't realize that since the only people you see are Brett and we Experts. Here's Brett working on the viewer's favorite Afghan Square of the Week.

Here's a photo of Alex, the Director sitting behind a zillion screens in the control room.

And here I am with Amanie, the Make Up Artist who does her best to make us all look good on camera.

Look for the show to air on PBS beginning in February. And please, if you want the show to air in your local market - call or write your local PBS Station and request they put it on their schedule. The show does not get automatically picked up. The more noise knitters and crocheters make with their local stations, the better chance you have that your station will pick it up. The show name is "KNIT AND CROCHET NOW." And check out the new website here. Thanks all. I'm heading back to the farm and can't wait to get home.

Can't wait for the new season. I always look forward to your segments. You inspired me to take up knitting again after being away from it for over 30 years.

Lookin' *GOOD*, Sweetie!! :-D

BTW, just a "techie" thing... I hope This Camera Crew will be doing *MORE* "over-the-shoulder" shots of the stitch-workings? -- Last "Season" seemed just a tad lacking in that area as compared to the earlier years.

..just saying...

Anyhoo, TRY to find *some* time to RELAX whilst you CAN!
:-D

KNIT and CROCHET is where I first became aware of your work. I can't wait to see you and the rest of the experts, and Bret, too.
