On March 19th, my new book - 50 Sunflowers to Knit, Crochet and Felt - will be released.
Last summer, you may remember, I curtailed the planting of the giant sunflower field because something had to give. Although we weren't growing a giant field of sunflowers, I still grew plenty of colorful sunflowers here in my garden in front of our farmhouse. I also spent the entire spring and summer growing sunflowers of a different kind. They were made of yarn and they grew from my knitting needles and my crochet hook.
50 Sunflowers to Knit, Crochet, and Felt is part of a very popular series of craft books published by St. Martin's Press in the USA. You might already have some of these books in your craft library. They are beautifully designed - colorful - and very quirky. Besides the US, my new book will be available in Australia, in the UK, and most probably in other languages as time goes on.
50 Sunflowers to Knit, Crochet and Felt really got my creative juices going. Besides dozens of flowers, I included a crocheted lady bug, monarch butterfly, a knitted robin and more critters you find in a sunflower garden. There are fifteen additional larger projects which show you how to use the sunflowers. I'll let you in on everything closer to publication.

Over the next couple weeks, before the official publishing date of March 19th, I'll be previewing many of the different projects I've included in this book. Here are a few of the spreads showing the varieties of flowers I made. What a fun project this was. And the lay-outs look lovely, don't they?
Ever wonder how to support my work and our farm? Here's your chance now. You can order an autographed copy of my book directly from me via the Shop Page on my website. Buy a book for yourself - for a friend - or for your town's library. My writing, stitching and crafting is a vital part of our farm income. Selling books directly to my readers really helps us to feed our sheep and keep the whole place running.
With each book order you will receive a set of 12 assorted postcards from my sheep collection - a $9.00 added value. My gift to all of you who support my work and our farm.
If you want 50 Sunflowers to Knit, Crochet and Felt signed personally to you or someone else, make sure you add a note in the "special instructions" section on the PayPal order form. If you mess that up or can't figure it out, send me an additional e-mail. No note - I will sign the book generically - which is fine by many people.
TO ORDER - VISIT MY SHOP PAGE HERE.
Note #1: Your Paypal account will be charged immediately but the book will not be shipped until March 19th or slightly thereafter. If you don't want your account charged now, hold off on ordering until I announce here that the books are in the house!
Note #2: I have stopped shipping internationally - even Canada. The postage rates were crazy expensive and it was a real hassle for me! Sorry about that but hopefully if you live overseas, one of the publishers in your country will be printing the book too!
