Did you know Margaret Roach has just re-launched her fabulous website "A Way To Garden." Do you know Margaret? I have never met her but have followed her career - especially during the years she was Editor in Chief at MS Living Magazine. Her website is so chock full of great information and garden inspiration. Check it out here.
It seems like an odd time to be talking gardening in the midst of January. We are having oddly warm temperatures (50 degrees) yesterday and today after last week's freezing below zero weather
The snow is all gone and spring has gotten into my head - the other day I saw the staff at Greenfield Farmers Coop Exchange setting up the seed displays. So pretty and colorful.
I was in picking up some paperwhites to cheer us up on those February days. Got them planted this morning.
The big news is it's time for new lambs.
That's right! The Farmer and his girls birthed 4 new lambs this weekend. I was only able to get a photo of one but there will be lots more coming down the pike.

We really enjoy the photos of your 'early' lambs. We're late-lambers so your photos give us a great lamb-fix just when we need it :)
Hi! Just wanted to say I love your blog! I wanted to ask, why is there numbers or blue (paint?) on the sheep and lambs? Just curious.
oh I want that little lambie
how adorable is that?
huh. Thought you'd have more snow on the ground... Then again, you were getting mostly freezing rain lately, right? -- Despite the yo-yo temps here, I've still got a couple of feet of the stuff! Yesterday was the first day in over a week that I didn't have to shovel-chop-bail-chop-chop-shovel-bail!
But, at least I didn't have to go birthing a bunch of cute "babies"!
;-D
January mail always brings seed catalogs. Down here in woutheast central Oklahoma, starting seeds is just around the corner.
Kristin, I thought of you when I received one catalog with a huge and gorgeous sundflower on the cover.
I look forward to seeing more pictures of the wee lambs!
How adorable, thanks for sharing the pictures of the new lamb, x
Thank you for the kind words -- and the images of the newborn! Oh, my.
Margaret Roach has a very nice podcast too. A nice thing to listen to while cutting hapless bugs in half!
Oh my - so sweet! Can't wait to see more of your wonderful pics of the lambs.
In my head I'm thinking of spring too and was just looking at see options for what I'll plant this year. Helps during this cold snowy day here in NY!
