Busy, Busy + Big News! I'm Throwing A Book Launch Party.

Spring finally seems to be getting to western Massachusetts. The daffodils are blooming - such a cheery sight. Yesterday was the first day of the Northampton Tuesday Market. It was a gorgeous day and there was a big turnout. That was a surprise because usually the first market is quite slow. I think people were just so happy to see the sun and feel some warmth.

I sell our local lamb at the Tuesday Farmers Market in Northampton for 30 weeks a year. As you can imagine, I have gotten to know some of the other vendors and some customers quite well. It was so good to see everyone yesterday and to hear how their winter was. The most common comment was LONG. I agree.

I was blown away by the tulips, anemone and ranunculus at the Old Friends Farm stand. Gorgeous. I don't have any tulips in my garden because the sheep eat them so I love seeing bundles for sale. So colorful and such a harbinger of spring.

In other news, I'm still getting some orders for my new book Crafting A Patterned Home. I'm up to 231 copies sold. It is going slow and I'm not sure I will make my goal of 500. I can at least try. Still time to order and get the freebies I offer plus free shipping. Here's the link to my website or you can buy in my Etsy shop here

My big news is that I am throwing my new book Crafting A Patterned Home a BOOK PARTY! Yes I am. In less than two weeks, I'm throwing open the doors of our antique farmhouse to share the colorful decoration with whoever travels to the farm. You can read all about it on my EventBrite page. There you can find tickets - IT IS FREE!

The idea for the Book Party came from my agent Linda. She has come to my Holiday Open House for several years and she always leaves inspired. She suggested I do a similar event near the time of publication - and not in the winter when there is chance of snow.

So here you have it - You are invited.

BOOK LAUNCH PARTY - MAY 5-6
HOURS - 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
to celebrate the publication of my new book
CRAFTING A PATTERNED HOME.
Our colorful 1751 farmhouse will be open to the public. On view will be many of the projects that are featured in Crafting A Pattern Home along with many other things I have made over the years.

This event will be a celebration of the handmade. I hope the day will inspire you to add some pattern and color to your home.

The event is FREE. Books will be available along with some other things I have made. For more information and directions, see the EVENTBRITE PAGE HERE

Although tickets are not mandatory, it will help me get a count to know what to expect. Hope to see you here in western Massachusetts in May.

You can find directions to our farm on our Leyden Glen Lamb website here. Our farm is 2 hours from Boston, 1 hour north of Hartford and 3 1/2 hours north of NYC. We are 15 minutes off of Rt. 91.

If you have any questions, send them in an email to kristinnicholas AT gmail DOT com or leave the ? in the comments. I will answer it there but make sure to check back for the answer.

After last week's ICE STORM temps have shot UP! As have the CROCUSES! Plus a few other mystery spouts... Robins are grazing... I even spotted a couple of Yellow Finches. Last weekend was SUNNY, HOT and quite "DISNEY"-esque with FAUNA!
Who knew, that the "Seasons" around here were on a DIMMER-SWITCH!?
