Adorn Magazine - on sale June 13th.

The women at Soho Publishing are always right on the trends. They do Vogue Knitting, Knit 1, and lots and lots of great books. I love them and what they do. I don't tell them that - I am mostly out of touch doing my own little thing. I don't visit them in NYC. I don't call them. You'd think I would be better at this after all these years. So guys at Soho, in the big city, you're great!

Even though, every once in awhile, they remember me, despite my lack on contact.
A call came a few months ago. They were launching a new crafty magazine. Would I be interested in contributing? "Count me in. By the way, what's it called?" I asked. "Adorn," they answered. "Sounds good. What can I do for you?" They told me what they wanted and you can find it on this compilation photo montage. I won't tell you which project I did. You'll have to buy the magazine.

So, look for it - June 13th on newstands. It looks to have lots of fun, colorful, crafty projects to make this summer. I can't wait to see it.
In the meantime, here's their website for a preview.

Thanks for the heads-up on the magazine. I knew the slipper would be yours. I am now working on Tuscan trees from your Colorful Stitchery book. I'm doing it on a piece of wool felted from a sweater. Thanks for the pattern!

I just found your site. I would love to acquire some sheep for the fleece and for the bush eating ability. We have goats, but the don't eat everything. Your Boers will do a great job on that. Sorry, this is a long comment.

Can't wait to pick up the new mag!!

Oooh, how exciting! I need ANOTHER craft magazine subscription like I need a hole in my head, but this one looks fantastic!

P.S. I'm so excited--I just got your book from Borders and it is just wonderful! I can't decide which thing I want to make first, but it has SO many great ideas!

Hi Kristen! I'm so excited that you've started a blog, I can hardly stand it. I think you're such a super knitwear designer/overall crafty woman, but to find out that you are also an eloquent writer and witty photographer is a bonus! Thanks for letting us peek into your world ... And as for the earlier discussion you had on embroidering on handknits, I, too, think it's high time that it caught on more. I've been telling my knitting friends for some time that I predict a wonderful and witty embroidered knits for children book to come out some day ... I hope you're the one that does it!
