There has been a lot of this stitching action going on at the farm lately. Julia took this photo after I bribed her that I would put it on my blog. She has been looking at the same sight for hours upon hours, days upon days, lately. Still not finished and hoping I can get my needle on the plane - I've got hours to keep on working on the projects.

My friend Clara Lopez and I are off at 3 a.m. (you read it correctly) to get to the Hartford Airport. We are going to Burbank, California to be guests on “Uncommon Threads” -- some kind of new cable show on the DIY network. The shows will air sometime in 2007. Doesn’t that sound far away?

We are demonstrating nine projects – all from Colorful Stitchery - and taping three shows. Yikes. We are hoping for the best, not knowing what to expect. We’ll see.

Do you know what step-outs are? Neither did I until about a month ago. Now I am an expert in making things up to a certain point, and then starting all over again and remaking them up to the next point. All so that others may learn. What a lot of work.

No expectations. But I hope it helps the “embroidery” and “stitching” buzz. Wish us luck – we’re going to need it.

If you place an order, I will ship it out the beginning of the week of August 21. Thanks for your patience. Until next week.......

Step outs. Aren't there some kind of other 'outs' as well? My friend is finishing up a quilting book. Lots of work but boy do we love the results!

Love your work and your blog.

Apparently they are some kind of levereaged investment tool - I think my googling is a little off. What are they?

The green on orange looks super!

Just don't confuse the step-outs with your step-ins.

Have fun with the taping!

On a much smaller scale...
I used to work for Michael's - the arts & crafts store - and I was in charge of all the classes. So I had to have each project finished through three steps and then the finished project, but NINE! Sheesh lady no wonder Julia is taking the pictures. It must be hard for your hands to remember how to do anything else :)
Make sure you let us know the dates of air - I'll trip up to my Mom's to watch on the satelite.

Sophie was so excited to see Julia listed as the photographer. Your hands must have been flying to create such a blur. I hope someone lent a hand at the last hour.

We just finished taping our first show and have practiced for the next two. Get here at 7 a.m. tomorrow and work til it is finished. I get on the red-eye tomorrow night and I'll be back home early Saturday morning. Everyone here is very nice and helpful and it hasn't been too torturesome.

Unfortunately I forgot my digital camera so I won't have anything to show for my efforts. Oh well. More next week. Have a great weekend.

Wow! I just found your blog and website through someone who had posted a pillow kit of yours. Wow! I've skimmed through your blog and have wanted to comment on so many posts. I'm going to pace myself and read them all carefully so I can leave thoughtful comments. Finding your blog is as exciting as when I discovered this crafty blog world. The par has now been raised. Oh, my, you are inspirational. Now I'm thinking Masters in textile design--just kidding. But, it is fun to dream. :) You've inspired me to post my embroidered Christmas stockings, which I've only posted details (on Flickr) of so far. Good luck with the TV.
