Knitted Color Style

Here's a fun colorful project I designed last year that came out this fall in Pam Allen and Ann Budd's Color Style.

It's a hooded scarf with a great big tassel knit in my Julia Wool/Mohair/Alpaca. Once again, I mixed up the patterns - a simple diamond Fair Isle with some embroidered flowers. Striped edges are easy and fun.

Look for it at your yarn or book store.

Here's a detail of the embroidery......

Have a colorful weekend and hope to see some of you at Webs on Saturday night - 5 p.m.

Wonderful pattern on pattern. I love how you mix traditional textile motifs with the pop of embroidery.
Very inspiring.

Awesome hooded scarf!

And it happens to be modeled by my very favorite knitwear model, who used to grace the pages of Interweave Knits. Haven't seen her there in a long while.

I'm working on a tiny sweater for my sister's newborn girl (she came a bit early, thus the preemie-sized sweater), and I'm thinking this would be a great little sweater to embellish with a bit of embroidery to make it special...

Diane's favorite model is Pam Allen's daughter Caitlin Fitzgerald who is professional model. When Pam was editor of Interweave Knits Caitlin appeared in Interweave's books and magazines more frequently. Pam is now creative director for Classic Elite Yarns, a job which -- coming full circle -- was first held by our very own Kristin!
